Ziddi has announced the launch of Ziddi Artist Grants, a new funding initiative that offers selected independent artists non-repayable grants ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹25,000. The program is intended to help musicians cover the costs of creating and releasing new music while encouraging the continued growth of the independent music community.
Supporting Independent Artists
Independent artists often finance every stage of a release themselves, from recording and production to artwork and marketing. These costs can delay projects or prevent them from reaching audiences altogether.
Ziddi Artist Grants have been introduced to help reduce some of these financial barriers by providing funding for eligible music projects. The initiative allows artists to dedicate more time and resources to creating and releasing music without relying on traditional financing.
How the Program Works
Selected artists may receive grant funding between ₹5,000 and ₹25,000 to support release-related expenses. Funding may be used for studio recording, music production, mixing and mastering, cover artwork, music videos, marketing, and other eligible costs directly connected to a music release. The grants are intended exclusively for music-related projects and cannot be used for personal expenses.
Ziddi Artist Grants are non-repayable and are not structured as loans, royalty advances, or investments. Artists who receive funding retain full ownership of their music and intellectual property, and participation in the program does not transfer any copyright or ownership rights to Ziddi.
Applications are open to artists with at least one active release distributed through Ziddi. Funding is awarded through an application process in which each submission is reviewed based on the proposed project, eligibility requirements, and available funding. Applications are typically reviewed within 14 business days, although review times may vary depending on the number of submissions received. Receiving a grant is not guaranteed, and all awards are made at Ziddi’s discretion.
Investing in the Independent Music Ecosystem
The launch of Artist Grants expands Ziddi’s growing portfolio of artist services, which includes digital music distribution, merchandising, direct-to-fan selling, revenue tracking, and promotional tools.
The initiative reflects a long-term commitment to supporting independent artists by helping them overcome practical challenges associated with releasing music. As more artists complete and release new projects, the independent music ecosystem continues to grow, creating greater opportunities for musicians and listeners alike.
